Jeanne O’Donnell

ARTIST STATEMENT

Through a process of dense patterning, I create images that reflect an inner state akin to dreaming.

In discovering archetypes from personal imagery, Jeanne O'Donnell has created paintings which resonate with awareness of the continuum of human experience. Free of any pretentious mystique or intellectual stodginess, these paintings represent an honest and sensitive personal search for understanding. Intriguing at first glance, with closer viewing they offer many levels of interpretation, along with an abiding sense of growth and potential. Mary McCoy

Black and White Series

In such compressed images the artist takes us deep into the details of organic life, examining the burgeoning cycle of growth and decay. The personal symbols she uses to illustrate her points are always accessible. Yet we are left with the sensation that these worlds are part of a teeming universe still infolding. Lee Flemming
